Just show up.
Even if it is downright awkward.
Even if you don’t have the enthusiasm to go.
Even if you are not really a fan of a crowd.
Just show up.
Even if you don’t feel like going.
Even if most of them are strangers to you.
Even if you don’t feel connected.
Just show up.
You never know what your presence means to someone else.
You never know how your smile brightens someone’s life.
You never know how their life will sharpen yours.
Just show up.
Put down your phone. Seek quality conversation.
Be interested. Ask questions.
Make them important.
Soak into the presence of strangers.
Let that awkwardness fade.
As the sun is fading into the sky.
To let the moon shine through the night.
These strangers will be your friends.
And these friends will be your accountability partners.
And these accountability partners will be your stretcher-bearer.
So just keep showing up.
They will be with you not just in fun and convenient times.
But all the more in the midst of trial, pain and hurt.
They will be your comrade in spiritual battle.
So just keep showing up.
Together, you will change the world upside-down.
One meet-up at a time.
All for the glory of God.
So just keep showing up.
[…] only morning I am excited to wake up to is on Fridays for I get to serve God and be with my small group. You don’t know how much I don’t want Fridays to […]
